Vintage Grumbacher Soft Pastels In 00/48 Hard Case*
*Purchased at an upscale Artist Estate Sale (I am unsure if 'all' pastels in box are Grumbacher (hence the multitude of photos so buyer can take a closer look, happy to send additional photos upon request.)
Grumbacher soft pastels are a high-quality known for their pure pigment, vibrant colors, and powdery, delicate texture. They have a high pigment-to-binder ratio, making them easy to blend, layer, and use for both drawing and painting techniques like sketching or filling large areas. Though production was discontinued, older Grumbacher pastels remain prized by artists. Grumbacher soft pastels are made from pure pigment with a minimal amount of binder, resulting in intense, vibrant colors. They have a soft, powdery texture, which makes them delicate and prone to smearing. The high pigment content allows for a very direct and immediate application of color. They are easy to blend and can be layered over each other.
