Vintage 1930's Large Clear Reverse Carved Etched Lucite Flower Lilly Brooch Pin
This is a lovely vintage gem. Made from clear lucite, this has been molded in the shape of a large three dimensional flower and reversed carved. When you look through the clear brooch you can see intricately etched stamen, pistils, and veins. It is easy to see why these vintage lucite pieces appeal - each one has been hand produced so there are natural variations in the style and design, the material is light making the brooches very easy to wear. The 'see-through' nature of the Lucite makes the brooch take on a different appearance when pinned onto various coloured clothes. The brooch is quite large measuring over 3" long. I had a time trying to get a truly good photo of the carving but it really is beautiful. There is some residue in one of the veins - have given the brooch a gentle wash but I will leave the rest up to the new owner.
