This CDV is rarer than photos of people. Read the third photo to have an understanding before buying. These CDVs were done just before the end of the Civil War up until a few years after for two reasons. For one to show people what obsolete currency looked like and also banks used these to identify counterfeit or obsolete bills. This is a really cool historical piece showing a Confederate $500 bill. This is an amazing Civil War Era item for a serious collector. These were also done on tintypes, but what makes them valuable is the age and rarity of the photo.
