Shun Grater

Made in the style of traditional Japanese graters, this shun grater is unique; the grated material is not pressed through the cutting surface, but the teeth remain on the surface of the cutting face-giving you the ability to create fine pastes of garlic and other vegetables by hand. The large, two-sided grating surface and carbon-steel blades provide the ability to grate vegetables fine or very fine. Using a circular motion, the fine side is ideal for making pastes like horseradish or wasabi while the coarse side can be used for vegetables such as carrots and hard cheese. The raised sides of the grater create a funnel effect, so ingredients fall where you want-in the bowl, on the cutting board, wherever well designed, quality workmanship-everything you expect from shun.
