This listing is for a beautiful original watercolor painting of the historic Collegiate Church of the Holy Trinity in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. This is the famous church where William Shakespeare was baptized and laid to rest, making it one of the most recognizable and beloved landmarks in England.
Artist: John Corvin (British, 1924–2010).
The watercolor captures the church, spire, and riverside reflection in Corvin’s soft, atmospheric style.
CONDITION
Artwork is in very good vintage condition.
There are faint remnants of old brown framing tape along the top edge from its previous frame, visible upon close inspection. Newer frame is clean and ready to hang. That original cardboard backing is included (shown in photos) as part of the painting’s provenance.
John Corvin was a British artist and longtime member of the Royal Shakespeare Company who lived in Stratford-upon-Avon. Later in life he turned to painting, producing watercolors and oils that frequently featured locally
