This 3" decorative porcelain plate from Limoges features a scalloped edge, round shape with gold edges. Makers Mark dates this piece to about 1890-1891, the Victorian era, and manufactured by Alfred Lanternier.

This Limoges has hand-painted daisies decorating it and a glossy finish. The diminutive piece is back stamped with the limoges anchor, indicating it's maker and time period. Take care when cleaning this piece, and hand wash only. This item is an authentic original.

In 1890, the Limoges Company was joined by the owner Frederic's son, Alfred Lanternier. Alfred gained experience working in England as a Wedgewood representative. The company changed name to A. Lanternier & Co. And they bought another porcelain factory in Limoges. During this time period, they adopted the makers mark that said, Limoges, in an arc, and beneath that an anchor with the initial A on the left and L on the right. This version of the mark was only used in the early 1890's.

No chips, cracks, or crazing.
