Bernie helped the Flyers win the1965 Memorial Cup with 10 wins and a
1.63 goals against average. He joined the Bruins in 1965, but played behind Eddie Johnston and future Hall of Famer Gerry Cheevers. Parent was left unprotected in the 1967 NHL Expansion Draft and the Philadelphia Flyers added him to their
goaltending corps. In his first full season
(1967-68) with Philly, he posted a 16-17-5
record with a 2.48 GAA. He played three
years with the Flyers, and then was traded
to the Toronto Maple Leafs
